Heal the Bay and Cabrillo Marine Aquarium implement FCEC’s Angler Outreach component, educating pier and shoreline anglers in Los Angeles and Orange County on the risks of consuming DDT- and PCB-contaminated white croaker. FCEC focuses outreach efforts on nine piers in proximity to the pollution area: Santa Monica, Venice, Hermosa, Redondo, Pier J, Belmont, Cabrillo, Seal Beach and Huntington Beach. Through this program, FCEC educates more than 10,000 anglers each year. Additionally, the Angler Outreach program disseminates information to 30 different bait shops and fishing supply stores near the piers
