EPA has selected environmental engineering firm Innovative Technical Solutions, Inc. The contract term is for a base period of three years with a potential total period of ten years.
ITSI will play a critical role in various aspects of the program, including assessing remediation options for the site, evaluating contaminant levels in fish samples and providing necessary technical training.
ITSI's project manager for the PV Shelf Institutional Controls Program is Tawny Tran, who is based in ITSI's San Pedro office. She and her team of experts will carry out various technical support activities for the PV Shelf Institutional Controls Program.
ITSI will also be heavily invovled in monitoring activities. They will be collecting white croaker from market places and docksides in collaboration with local county health inspectors and CA Department of Fish and Game wardens. ITSI is also responsible for analyzing fish contaminant levels and assessing associated health risk.
One of the initiatives for this program year is to standardize trainings. To help accomplish this, ITSI will develop and carry out fish identification trainings for the enforcement program and FCEC program.
